The Lost Millennium
[A short-run larger-than-life nursery rhyme]
In a recess of the world
There was a come to rest named Sumer
Whose vocaliser sometime reached...
The Euphrates vale and the
Syrian desert, its giant plateau,
As a result, the mud of two federal streams
Created a delta, beside a unforgiving sun
But loaded was the soil, as anywhere
On dirt...and God created man
And man present made his home:
This was the beginning, diversified
By marshes and reed-beds,
Rivers go red beside their botanist...
After the Great Flood, retreating
Waters and cultivating took spot.
Hence, into Sumer the giants of old
Went, degreed a civilization, among
The brunette individuals...sporadically
Circumstances would advance communal team spirit.
And there was Susa, Musyan, Elam
And the Persian Gulf-Mesopotamia;
And Queen shub-ad created style, and
Pottery formed, and temples were dropped.
And kings came and left, similar King
Gilgamish; and gum came, metallic vases,
And imperial robert ranke graves at UR, and the
Sumerian hymn, and they hummed
To the gods; and the villagers wore
Garments of sheepskins, and molded
Clay figurines, stridently chipped
From crystal, they wore necklaces
Of this kind, and beads;
This was the mislaid period of time.
They reflection in some manner or another,
Virtue was a necessity for the gods, thus
Came sacrifices and the regular ritual,
And spells that bind, hoping to remain engaged
To sustenance their favor, feast-days came and went,
Animals killed like flies, barbarism, yet
It drew the gods, and mans fair sensitivity.
Prompt, the gods exercised their power,
And man consequently started to create statues
To their likeness,
And now human human action recovered its way,
With tricks from the dismembered saintly beings,
Those who gave first to jumbo children, and
So it was, an unexpected development came.
Astrology was born, Sumerians now ruled
The skies; physics erudition came
From the gods, and the gods (angelic beings)
Came from the sky: faith beings.
Mesopotamia came lower than Sumerian rule,
And Ur, Lagash and Nippur prestigious the
Moon-god, and next came more public building complex.
And it became the Sacred Way,
And the walls of the Ziggurat [Temples]
Were built, sanctuaries, beside an innermost court,
And doors decorated, narrowing chambers,
The consecrated of holies, shrines, religious vessels;
It was an colourful development...
This day and age...platforms, brickwork, statues
Gods and goddesses, oil-jars; a lost kinfolk.
